Shop Pay for WooCommerce

Add a fast “Buy with Shop Pay” button to your WooCommerce cart and checkout, without moving your store off WooCommerce.

Express Checkout for Shop Pay plugin for WooCommerce

What it does

Shoppers see a familiar “Buy with Shop Pay” button above your cart and checkout form, and Shop Pay also appears in your normal list of payment methods. It opens Shop Pay’s own payment sheet and finishes the purchase without the shopper leaving your checkout.

Express button and payment method

Both are included, so shoppers can pay the way they prefer.

Live cart sync

The payment sheet stays in step with your WooCommerce cart: line items, discounts, shipping options and tax, even when the shopper changes their address or delivery method.

Orders stay in WooCommerce

WooCommerce remains the source of truth for your orders, products and inventory.

Works with your other gateways

It adds Shop Pay as an extra option and does not replace anything. Other shoppers check out exactly as before.

Careful with payment status

Shop Pay confirms payments after the shopper submits them, so the plugin never marks an order as paid from the first response. Orders stay at Pending payment until Shopify’s own webhook confirms the real result, then move to Processing. If that webhook is delayed or set up wrongly, the plugin emails the store admin so nothing is missed silently.

How to get started

  1. Install and activate WooCommerce if you have not already.
  2. Install this plugin from your WordPress dashboard (Plugins, Add New, search “Express Checkout for Shop Pay”) or from WordPress.org.
  3. Connect your Shop Pay account. Enter your Shop ID, Client ID and Storefront API token, and add the webhook secret.
  4. Test in Shopify Payments’ test mode, then go live.

Every step has screenshots in the full setup guide.

Before you install: what you need

  • WordPress 6.0 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer, and WooCommerce
  • A Shop Pay / Shopify account with Shopify Payments active. This is a separate account for accepting Shop Pay payments. You do not need to move your store to Shopify.
  • Your Shop ID, Client ID, myshopify.com handle and a Storefront API access token
  • A webhook signing secret from Shopify admin, so paid orders move to Processing automatically

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Shopify store to use this?

You need a Shop Pay account with Shopify Payments active. It is a separate, dedicated account for accepting Shop Pay payments, not a full Shopify store replacing WooCommerce. WooCommerce stays your store.

Does this replace my other payment gateways?

No. It adds Shop Pay as an extra option next to your existing gateways.

Is the plugin free?

Yes, it is free on WordPress.org. Shopify Payments has its own fees, set by Shopify.

Why does a new order show "Pending payment"?

This is expected. Shop Pay confirms payments after submission, so the order moves to Processing once Shopify's webhook reports the final result. This is usually near-instant when the webhook is set up correctly.

Does it support refunds and multiple shipping packages?

Version 1 supports a single shipping package per order, and refunds are handled through your existing WooCommerce and Shop Pay admin. Refund sync is not automated yet.

Who makes this plugin?

CostaTech. Questions or problems: costatechnolab@gmail.com, or use the support forum on WordPress.org.
